A man today pleaded not guilty to two charges of harassing his wife.
David Pavey, 36, was arrested last week after allegedly dousing himself in petrol and threatening to set himself on fire.
Mr Pavey, of Headingley Crescent, Darlington appeared at Northallerton Magistrates Court, North Yorkshire yesterday, where he pleaded not guilty to two counts of harassing his wife, Tracy Pavey, and one count of criminal damage relating to a mobile phone.
Magistrates adjourned the case until October 3 for a pre trial review hearing.
Mr Pavey was released on bail with the conditions to live and sleep at 61 Headingley Crescent and not to go within a five mile radius of his wife's home in Catterick, other than for appointments with his GP and solicitor.
