YOUNGSTERS are being urged to take part in an event which will give them a bigger say in the running of their town.
Graffiti artists and film-makers will attend the Whatever U Want! event at Caf 177, in Hartlepool, next weekend.
It aims to find new ways that young people can have their say about services in Hartlepool.
The event has been organised by Hartlepool Community Network, in partnership with Millennium Volunteers, Hartlepool Primary Care Trust and the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit.
Tracey Foster, of the Community Network, said: "The views of young people are as important as those of anyone else.
"We want to find out how they can be involved in decisions affecting Hartlepool.
"We want to know what young people care about, what concerns them and what ideas they have.
"Whatever U Want! will give young people a platform to have their say and, hopefully, take a much more active role in consultation."
The event starts at noon on Saturday at the cafe, in York Road, and ends with a party between 7pm and 9pm.
Throughout the day, there will be a series of workshops looking at issues including how young people can make a positive contribution to the life of the town.
Workshops will also examine how young people can stay healthy and safe, ensure their economic well-being and how they can achieve more.
Feedback from the young people will be presented to the Hartlepool Partnership.
Whatever U Want! is open to anyone aged between 13 and 23.
