A NEW open leek, flower and vegetable show will be held at Whitworth Hall, between Brancepeth and Spennymoor, later this month.
The event, part of the annual British Red Cross Country Fair, will have 25 classes ranging from pot leeks to carnation buttonholes.
The event will take place on Sunday, September 25, and entries for the show can be made by post or at 9.15am on the day of the show.
The first prize in the pot leek class is £100 and judging takes place at 11am. The show will be open between 1pm and 5pm.
Other attractions will include stalls and pick your own fruit in the walled garden.
