CHILDREN and pub regulars raised £600 for St Cuthbert's during a pub fun day.
Staff and customers at The White Tun, in Witton Gilbert, raised the money with an afternoon of children's games, a raffle and evening disco during the August bank holiday.
Meanwhile, a mail shot appeal launched by St Cuthbert's to mark the start of the appeal in May has now brought in a record-breaking £45,000 towards the target.
A number of other fundraising events are planned for the next few weeks to swell the total.
On Saturday, September 10, there will be a coach trip to Glasgow with pick-ups in Durham City and Chester-le-Street, Tickets are £8.50.
Volunteers will also stage flag days in Chester-le-Street on Friday, September 16, and in Durham on Saturday, September 24, while there will be house-to-house collections in both towns over the next two weeks
