THE Northern Echo's music website is hosting its next Platform gig on Friday.
Casualkai, South Street and The Silence Breaks will take the stage at The Forum, Borough Road, Darlington.
The evening will kick off with Casualkai, a Newcastle four-piece.
The band are Nick Gladdish, Lee Brown, Jon Jarvis, and Jon Fortune. They describe their sound as a hybrid of acoustic song writing and solid harmonies, with elements of progressive rock.
Next up will be South Street, a Gateshead five-piece made up of Micky Brunskill, Jon Sams, Ryan Quinn, Sean Connelly, and Anth Gallagher.
The sound is heavier than Casualkai's and they describe it as an abrasive punk/rock fusion with elements of a few other genres.
The final band on stage will be Newcastle rock group The Silence Breaks.
Formed this spring, they are a classic, no-nonsense guitar, bass, drums format made up of Dave Brierley, Leigh Mason and Sean Thompson.
The gig will open with DJ Stodmeister playing a wide selection of Indie classics, past and present, from Shack, The Charlatans, and Ride through to the Kaiser Chiefs.
Host for the evening will be Alpha FM's afternoon presenter Mike Nicholson.
Doors open at 7.30pm, and tickets are £3. For more information, log on to www.thisisrevolution.co.uk
