A Darlington Council scheme has helped 30 companies fill vacancies.
The Central into Work project helps residents of the North Road, Northgate, Central and Bank Top areas of Darlington find jobs.
The project helps unemployed people with CVs, interviews, finding and financing training and job searches.
The project also runs a job matching service that helps employers find the right person for a specific vacancy.
Participants on the scheme receive a back to work bonus of £100 once they get a job, providing it is for 16 hours a week or more and expected to last for 13 weeks or more.
Since the scheme started, vacancies have been filled in the care, retail, warehouse, administrative and hospitality sectors.
Companies wishing to find out more about the scheme are asked to call (01325) 388470.
Residents can find out about the project on 07967 178026
