THE police force that investigated the deaths of four recruits at an Army barracks has been asked to examine a report on its activities.
Surrey Police yesterday received the results of a review of its 15-month inquiry into the deaths.
However, relatives of dead soldiers Geoff Gray, Sean Benton, Cheryl James and James Collinson have been left in the dark about its contents.
Last night, Geoff Gray, the father of Private Geoff Gray, 17, from Seaham, County Durham, who was found dead while on guard duty in September 2001, spoke of his anger at not being allowed to see the report. He said: "I need to know what the report says."
"This report is directly concerned with my son's death and if there is anybody in this country that deserves to see that report, it is myself and my wife."
Devon and Cornwall Police carried out the review after concerns over Surrey Police's handling of the inquiry. Surrey Police said the report was being considered.
