PEOPLE in Wear Valley will be encouraged to clean up their act by setting up their own litter-picks.
Wear Valley District Council's Pride Campaign and Billy Row Action Team will host an open day at Stanley Way Community Centre today.
The event will provide information for community, resident and youth groups on how to establish their own regular litter-picks, with members of both groups on hand to provide advice.
Joanne Morley, Pride campaign officer, said: "By setting up regular litter-picks, groups can help promote the benefits of physical activity as well as improving the look of their own area."
Any groups interested in setting up their own litter- picks can visit the centre at 11am.
