A Darlington betting shop has been raising funds to give money back to the community.
Ladbrokes, in Neasham Road, held a raffle to boost a growing pot of money from which community groups or charities can apply for grants.
Groups that have already reaped the benefits include Darlington Memorial Hospital, St Teresa's Hospice, Talking Newspaper and Hurworth Residents' Association. Each received a grant worth between £150 and £1,500. The raffle helped to raise between £250 and £300.
The winning prize was a painting of a horse and jockey, by Darlington artist Megan Burford, which is still yet to be claimed by the owner of ticket number 362.
Shop manager Judith Winter said: "The raffle went really well and we were pleased with the response.
"All we ask now is for community groups and societies to get in touch with us so they can tell us why they deserve a grant.
"We look at each application on its own merit, so we can't guarantee a group will receive any money, but it is still worthwhile applying."
