WORKS by two of the greatest names in 20th Century art - Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse - will feature in a major autumn exhibition in North Yorkshire.
The exhibition will run from September 10 to October 30 at Nunnington Hall, a National Trust property near Helmsley.
There will be many original lithographs and etchings on display as well as a number of Picasso ceramics.
Born in Spain, Picasso was a child prodigy and encouraged greatly by his art-teacher father, yet he was always known as a rebel and experimented with different styles and innovative ways of expressing his work.
Matisse was born in Le Cateau in France and initially planned a career as a law- yer.
However, after an acute attack of appendicitis, he began to paint.
Altogether, about 40 works by the two artists will be featured in the exhibition.
