THREE men will face trial over the death of a father who was killed on a cycling trip with his son.
Appearing at Teesside Crown Court, Jan Torka, 57, of Hilltop, Newlands Road, Skelton, east Cleveland, and Thomas Mark Sells, 42, of Lingfield Ash, Coulby Newham, Teesside, denied causing the death by dangerous driving of David Sayers.
Another man Martin Gordon Conroy, 31, of Liddle Close, Peterlee, County Durham, has pleaded not guilty to a dangerous driving charge in connection with the same incident.
Mr Sayers, 58, from Norton, Teesside, who worked for chemical firm Huntsman, was cycling with his son, John, on the A689 at Greatham, near Hartlepool, on January 29.
It is alleged that the wing mirror of Mr Torka's Ford Transit van struck Mr Sayers, who fell off his bike and was struck by vehicles driven by Mr Sells and Mr Conroy.
Adjourning the case, Judge George Moorhouse allowed bail conditions to continue.
