OUR thoughts are with the parents of teenager Jenny Nicholl who went missing exactly two months ago today.
It's hard to imagine the pain and heartache Mr and Mrs Nicholl are going through, not knowing whether their beloved daughter is alive or dead.
Every knock on their door and every phone call must make their hearts miss a beat.
It's a curious case as Jenny apparently had no reason to disappear yet police have found no evidence that the 19 year-old has been in an accident or come to any harm.
We know that at first, officers thought she may have run away to Scotland or the Lake District but that theory proved to be a false alarm.
And her parents insist it was completely out off character for Jenny to go anywhere without telling anyone where she was off to. The happy-go-lucky teenager simply vanished, leaving her car in a pub car park.
But we have found that police have been somewhat reluctant to disclose details of the case, a decision which has added to the mystery.
Normally in missing person cases, officers like to keep the Press well informed and regularly tell us of the up-to-date developments. But not in this case.
We know police have quizzed a middle-aged man who was found hiding in a crudely constructed shelter on the moors. And in another unexplained incident, a 46-year-old man was questioned and then released after being arrested for allegedly attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The search has centred on the countryside around the market town of Richmond where Jenny was apparently spotted camping on the moors - just days before she disappeared.
Her white Rover 214i car was found abandoned at the nearby Holly Hill Inn.
Whether a police reconstruction or a television appeal by Jenny's family would help, we don't know. But as the days go by, the more stressful it's going to get for Jenny's poor parents.
So anyone reading this who thinks they can help solve this very sad case please call police on (01423) 539334.
Jenny is 5ft 6in, slim with green eyes, fresh complexion and fair, shoulder-length hair. When last seen by her parents, she was carrying a dark grey rucksack with black straps.
