PEOPLE of all ages were out in force yesterday for the Northallerton charity carnival.
As well as charity stalls and fairground rides, attractions included a bouncy castle, vintage car display, steam train rides and go-karts.
The event opened with a parade along the High Street led by the carnival prince and princess - Samuel Kozyra, seven, and Sian Bull, six.
The youngsters opened the carnival, which this year had an animal theme.
l Organisers of the event say commercial sponsorship may be necessary to safeguard the carnival in future years.
Committee member Christine Carr said: "The carnival is first and foremost a charity event, but it has a lot of hidden costs which still have to be paid for. Health and safety requirements, insurance and delivery of stalls cost a lot and our outgoing funds are a lot greater than our incoming ones."
