A GROUP of seven students took part in an exhausting three-day trek across the Yorkshire Dales as part of their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award.
The seven, from Leeds Grammar School, set out from Richmond Castle and hiked and camped their way to Middleham Castle.
They trekked up Swaledale to Reeth before crossing the moors to Wensleydale and then on to Middleham.
"This is quite a walk to undertake, but at least they have got some great landmarks to follow - starting at Richmond Castle, then heading on to Bolton Castle and finishing at Middleham Castle - it would be difficult to get lost when you have such clear milestones to aim for," said Richmond Castle's Lorraine Cooper.
