YOUNGSTERS were given a school holiday treat when craft sessions came to a busy shopping centre at the weekend.
Scores of children were able to put their creative talents to the test when the new owner of the Castlegate Shopping Centre, in Stockton, celebrated their arrival with the art lessons, run by qualified instructors.
An empty store in the centre was transformed into a workshop on Saturday, with up to 20 children at a time being entertained.
The day was organised by the new owner, Lathe Investments, in a bid to reach out to the Stockton community.
As part of the initiative, the firm is also planning to give away a Smart For Four car, which is worth £10,000 and seats four people.
Shoppers can enter a free lottery-style competition and must match six numbers to win the car.
Entry leaflets are available from any Castlegate shop, no purchase is necessary. The promotion runs until October 1.
