A SERVICE which gives free, impartial information and advice about childcare in Darlington has now dealt with hundreds of enquiries.
The children's information service was launched 18 months ago and provides parents with a database of information on local childcare providers, including schools, private day nurseries, out-of-school clubs, playgroups and holiday clubs.
It does not recommend individuals, but provides information on the type of care which would suit a family.
The service is run by Darlington Borough Council and so far has been able to find a place for every child who needs it.
Experts offer advice on how to claim childcare credits to pay for nurseries and can also supply information to those working in the industry.
