A JACKET and tie belonging to the late Richard Whiteley is one of the prizes to be auctioned at a charity ball.
Tickets are on sale for the James Bond-themed fundraising ball at Bedale Hall on Saturday. The event will raise money for the Macmillan Nurses.
The Countdown presenter, who died earlier this year, wore both garments on the show. They were donated by his partner, Kathryn Apanowicz.
Organiser Julie Brown, a GP at Leyburn medical centre, said she hopes to raise at least £700.
"I work with Macmillan nurses on a regular basis and am very impressed with the work they do," she said.
"The charity has said that that the money we raise can be spent in our area, so it will all go to help the local team at the Friarage Hospital."
Other prizes include an electric guitar, a meal for two at the Blue Lion in East Witton and a fitting and lingerie from Victoria's Lingerie in Leyburn.
Tickets cost £35 and are available from Dr Brown on (01969) 623253.
