A North-East gymnast aims to bring Olympic glory from the 2012 Games in London back to her home town.
Hayley Robson's resolve to make the Great Britain Olympic squad was strengthened when the capital was chosen to host the Games.
The 15-year-old was part of the silver medal-winning 2005 British Schools Team and was all-round champion at the British Championships this year.
Hayley, who competes on parallel bars, the beam, the floor and the vault, has represented Great Britain in the Czech Republic, Croatia and France.
She now hopes to make a medal-winning performance in front of her biggest supporters - parents John and Wendy and brother Jamie.
The family moved from Peterlee to Spennymoor so Hayley could be closer to her training facilities at South Durham Gymnastics Club, based at Spennymoor Leisure Centre.
Hayley said: "I'm hopeful that hosting the event here will mean more and better training facilities for everyone, not just potential Olympians.
"I would love to see the profile of sport in North-East England raised so that more people can be involved.
"It would be nice to have top-class regional facilities and not have to travel south to train and compete."
