A COUNCIL official has won a top award for his work in building and development.
Dale Rhodes, who lives in Huntington, near York, is a 28-year-old building control officer with the North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership.
He has just won the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors' Ken Hawley Award for Academic Achievement after receiving the highest mark on the building surveying course in the region.
Mr Rhodes, who completed the normally five-year BSc (Hons) building surveying course at Leeds University in only three years, helps provide building control services in the Ryedale area.
District council chairman Lindsay Burr presented him with his award
