MARIE Curie Cancer Care is looking for runners to take part in this year's Great North Run.

The charity is inviting people who have a place in this year's event to join the Marie Curie Cancer Care team and help to raise funds.

The charity provides free nursing to allow terminally ill people the option of remaining at home supported by their families.

Linda McDonough, the charity's community fundraising manager, said: "We would like to ask those who have a place in the 2005 Great North Run but have not yet chosen a charity to support, if they would consider choosing Marie Curie Cancer Care."

"We are always looking for different ways in which to raise the vital funds needed to continue the work of Marie Curie Care.

"It would be wonderful if any registered runners would like to help us."

Anybody interested can contact Linda McDonough on 0191-382 3311.
