WALK-IN centre lead nurse Barbara Hudson is moving on after helping to establish the clinic as one of Darlington's premier health centres.
Mrs Hudson is making the move from the centre to another area at Doctor Piper House, in King Street, to develop practice nursing across the town.
She will also help to develop a new nursing strategy.
Darlington Primary Care Trust's head of nursing, Linda Bailes, said: "Barbara has done a fantastic job in the nurse-led walk-in centre.
"She has helped interview staff, order equipment and develop protocols. She has also helped set up teams of nurses, which has enabled us to get the facility up and running, putting nursing on the map.
"She will now use her expertise to develop links with practice nurses in GP surgeries across town."
