RESIDENTS are being reminded to have their say about how Darlington Borough Council should spend extra funds on improving roads and pavements across the borough.
The council has an extra £2.5m to spend, on top of its usual road maintenance budget, and is planning to address problems on roads and pavements.
In order to prioritise what areas need work, the council has been asking residents to nominate places where they think the money should be spent.
Leaflets have been delivered to every home in the borough detailing the scheme and asking for suggestions.
Although hundreds of residents have already submitted their ideas, there is still time for other people to comment.
Residents are being asked to tell the council if work needs to be done in their neighbourhood and to put the details on the leaflet and return them.
Once the suggestions have been received, the council's highways department will decide which areas will receive funding and it is hoped work will start by the end of the year and continue into 2007.
The £2.5m will pay for drainage improvements and pavement and kerb repairs.
Although these problems do not pose a danger they can make getting around the town more difficult for some people.
Anyone who has not yet received a questionnaire can call (01325) 388799. Residents have until the Monday, September 5, to respond.
