A MOBILE skatepark has been launched on Teesside.
Young skateboard and BMX riders can stay entertained during the summer holidays with the well-equipped park, which includes the latest ramp by Sunramp and a half-pipe for skaters.
Open to boarders and riders of all ages and abilities, the skatepark was assembled yesterday in Stockton High Street, between the Shambles and the Town Hall.
Weather permitting, it will also be set up at additional sites across Stockton over the next few weeks, with some dates still to be confirmed.
Admission to the park is free, though visitors are expected to bring their own board or BMX.
Helmets and safety pads will be provided for all users, with trained organisers and Red Cross representatives on hand at all times.
Councillor Alex Cunningham, Stockton Borough Council's cabinet member for education, leisure and cultural services, said: "The new skatepark is fantastic for anyone interested in this type of sport.
"Having a mobile facility means we can tour the skatepark around the borough, so as many youngsters as possible have the chance to take part and enjoy themselves.
"It's the first time we've brought it right into the High Street."
The first dates to be confirmed are:
* Tuesday, August 30, Billingham Town Centre, 10.30am to 3.30pm
* Thursday, September 1, High Street, Stockton, 10.30am to 3.30pm
* Saturday, September 3, South Thornaby Community Centre, Havillan Road, 10.30am to 3.30pm
