YOUNG people from Darlington are reaching new heights this week as a trampolining course is being staged at Hummersknott Comprehensive School.
The classes are running until Friday from 2pm and 5pm, with three one-hour sessions each day. The first hour is for eight to ten-year-olds, the second hour is for ten to 12-year-olds and the final one is for 12 to 16-year-olds.
The sessions aim to teach the basic skills. However, if the week is successful, it is hoped a permanent club will be set up at the school.
Coach Nigel Rooney said: "The classes started yesterday and the youngsters were learning the basic skills. They seemed to enjoy the day.
"Hopefully, as the week goes on, they will tell their friends and more people will come along and give it a go. This week is mainly aimed at getting people interested in trampolining as a hobby."
The week-long course costs £15, or £3 a day.
