PEOPLE in Sedgefield can achieve a qualification while helping elderly people keep fit on a new ten-week course.
The Age Concern Sedgefield office is preparing a programme of physical activity sessions in the Sedgefield area and is recruiting volunteers.
Volunteers can gain a Keep Fit Association certificate while providing gentle, seated exercise to groups of older people.
Locality manager Kathleen Young said: "This is a good opportunity for anyone interested in this type of activity to become active volunteers or instructors helping older people keep their mobility and independence.
"Age Concern are promoting this opportunity and covering the cost of the course.
"Not everyone has to be dedicated to keeping fit. A general interest in this programme is enough to be involved."
The course will start next month. For more details, contact (01388) 720064.
