A COURSE is being organised for village hall volunteers to enable them to test electric appliances.
The Teesdale Village Halls Consortium is arranging a Portable Appliance Testing course that leads to a City and Guilds Code of Practice in Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.
All public buildings need their appliances tested, which can be a considerable expense, so the consortium is training volunteers to do it for themselves.
The training will take place on Wednesday, September 21, 28, and October 3, from 6pm to 9pm, at the Optimum Digital Factory, Newton Aycliffe.
There will also be a one-hour revision session and online exam.
All course and exam costs will be paid for by the consortium for eligible volunteers.
