AS a Darlington supermarket prepares to mark its tenth anniversary, 45 members of staff will be celebrating reaching their own personal milestones after working at the store since it opened. Morrisons, in Morton Park, opened on Monday, August 21, 1995, and of the 419 staff currently employed at the store, 45 have notched up ten years unbroken service.
Chris Elliott, the store's deputy general manager, said: "Everyone at the store is delighted to be able to celebrate ten years of trading at Morrisons.
"To have so many staff still working at the store since the opening day is amazing and I'd like to thank each of them and all our loyal customers for making the store a success over the past decade."
Colin Jackson, assistant deputy manager, said: "IIt has passed so quickly and seems like only yesterday we were excitedly preparing for the opening. I've made some great friends at the store over the years and I'm sure 45 of us will be looking back over the last ten years with some wonderful memories."
