A COUPLE whose son went to school five times out of a possible 154 will be sentenced by magistrates next month.
Edward and Judith Crozier are being prosecuted by Middlesbrough Council for failing to ensure 12-year-old Jamie Lee's attendance in class.
Their case was adjourned until September 1 at Teesside Magistrates' Court yesterday to give probation workers time to write a pre-sentence report on Mr Crozier, 45.
A pre-sentence report had already been prepared for Mrs Crozier, 42.
The couple, of Crescent Road, Middlesbrough, admitted the charge, which was brought under the Education Act.
Only 18 of Jamie Lee's absences from Acklam Grange School between the end of January and June 17 had been authorised by his parents.
Earlier this month, a mother was warned she faced jail after her 15-year-old son skipped the same school in Middlesbrough 153 times out of 154.
Louise Allinson, 34, of Forber Road, Saltersgill, Middlesbrough, said she had done everything she could to make sure son Jonathan went to class.
