A CHARITY is cooking up a mouth-watering way to raise funds for its work helping cancer sufferers.
The Chester-le-Street branch of Marie Curie Cancer Care is holding a cook your own pizza night at Pizza Express in Saddler Street, Durham, on Thursday, August 25, at 7.30pm.
Participants pay £10 and they get to make their own pizza. They are shown how to slap the dough - with a choice of ingredients, all provided free by the company.
Linda McDonagh, of the charity, said: "It is part of the Make a Meal campaign we do throughout the year. Members of the public can organise a fundraising meal. It can be a pie and peas supper, pizza night or a dinner party.
"This is the second pizza event we have had at Pizza Express. We had one here two years and it was great fund. I'd like to thank Pizza Express for letting us hold the event here.
"The money we raise in this area stays in this area and it goes towards our community nurses who work with cancer sufferers.''
The event is limited to 20 people and so far 12 of the places have been booked.
