A MEDICAL response team is ensuring heart attack sufferers in an east Durham community have a better chance of survival.
The four-member Seaham First Responders team is on call 24 hours a day to ensure anyone with a suspected heart attack receives swift medical treatment.
Operating in conjuction with the North-East Ambulance Service, the team is on constant standby to respond to 999 calls in the Seaham area from anyone suffering from the symptoms of a coronary.
The team includes Alison Bulmer, Jim Lawrence, Adrian Harding and Anthony Davison.
Now the speedy responders are looking for other volunteers to help provide cover for the town.
Anyone who is willing to join will be given the necessary training and will join the other four volunteers who launched the team in May.
Anyone interested in becoming one of the volunteer workers is asked to con- tact Alison Bulmer on 0783 4775029.
