A GROUP of disabled artists have become the latest people to exhibit their works at the Chester-le-Street Civic Centre.
Artworks by members of the town's Society of Disabled Artists (Soda), covering a range of media, can be viewed in the cash desk area of the Civic Centre until September 23. A number of the works on show will also be for sale.
Soda meets each Thursday at Auckland Community Centre. There are about 20 members in the group who attend on a regular basis.
The membership of the group varies in age and disability, with many of the members having attended for a number of years.
Soda is part of the National Society of Disabled Artists, but is the most northern group.
The group uses the skills of visiting artists on a regular basis, with weekly attendance fees used to fund this.
The group is keen to become involved with community projects on an occasional basis.
There is space for one additional member. Anyone who is interested can contact Beryl Ringland on 0191-388 4594.
