YOUNGSTERS can continue to enjoy the benefits of their village breakfast club thanks to a £1,000 donation.
The Dene Valley One Stop Shop, in Eldon Lane, near Bishop Auckland, has been given the money by the Freemasons of Durham. About 40 children use the club every week, enjoying a healthy breakfast before being taken to school by Dene Valley Community Transport.
Margaret Ingledew, from the partnership, said: "It is great to have been given this money. We have been writing off everywhere to try and get money for the club and this is a welcome donation."
Jim Forster, from the Freemasons, said: "We think that this is a brilliant scheme."
