Police were today hunting a man who approaches women dressed only in a nappy and asks them: ''Are there any baby changing facilities in the area?''
The man hides in bushes late at night before moving towards his victims wearing just the oversized baby outfit.
Cleveland Police said they were becoming increasingly concerned about the man's antics in the Eaglescliffe area after several incidents in the last few months.
The latest happened last night in a play area on Wentworth Way, police said.
The man approached a woman out walking her dog at about 11pm and said to her: ''Are there any baby changing facilities in the area?''
The startled woman said no and walked off, leaving the man still running around dressed in his nappy.
Inspector Ian Garrett said no one had been assaulted by the nappy-wearing man but his antics were bizarre and a cause for concern.
''There have been several reports of him having been seen in Eaglescliffe dressed only in a nappy and we are keen to trace him and speak to him,'' he said.
Earlier this year there were similar incidents reported in the Stockton on Tees area of a man also wearing just a nappy but police are not connecting the two.
