TICKETS are available for what is being hailed as a great example of sustainable tourism.
It is estimated that the Boots and Beer Walking Festival will inject £35,000 into the local economy of Upper Wensleydale, North Yorkshire.
The event for over-18s, which is being held from September 9 to 11, offers a choice of 14 walks, ranging from a gentle, three-mile stroll to full-day treks across the high fells.
In the evening, there will be a choice of entertainment, including a free music trail and quiz night.
The walking festival also helps fund local conservation projects and, over the past three years, it has raised a total of £2,194 for the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.
Over 300 of the 500 tickets available, which are priced at £15, have already been sold.
