A GROUP of singers came together yesterday to recreate the wartime spirit.
The singers put on a show to help encourage people to record their memories of the war.
The We'll Meet Again show was part of the BBC People's History series.
Harry Herring, a member of the RAF Gang Show with Peter Sellars, hosted the event at Darlington railway centre and museum.
The show included songs such as The Lambeth Walk and Roll Out the Barrel.
Museum education officer John Beeley said the response was fantastic and that although the show was a one-off, he said: "It may be something we can do again in later years."
The performance was part of a scheme that aims to get as many people as possible to recount memories and stories from the Second World War.
Memories and stories collected will be part of the BBC series, as well as being turned into a booklet of memories for local veterans.
Anyone with a memory they would like to record is asked to call Mr Beeley on (01325) 734122.
