Guisborough have the opportunity to reduce Saltburn's 49 point lead at the top of the Darlington Building Society NYSD Premier League Premier Division when they play twice this weekend.

At home to Great Ayton today they name Chris Allinson for Johnny May and, for tomorrow's fixture at Richmondshire, Ryan Murray takes over from Saul Clifford.

The majority of clubs are involved in a double programme but Saltburn play just once - at Marske this afternoon. The home side are strengthened with the return of Stephen Larkin, Ryan Lazenby and Ben Walker.

It is a big weekend for Chester-le-Street and South Northumberland who tomorrow meet at Ropery Lane in the final of the Banks Salver (1 pm).

Before then, the pair will battle for vital points in the Foster's ECB North East Regional Premier League.

The Cestrians, 29 points adrift of their rivals, meet Durham Academy at the Racecourse minus Andrew Bell. South North visit Blaydon with Mathew Hall replacing spinner Richard Brook.

Chris Tait for Chris Fawcett is Norton's only change for the derby with Stockton who include Tom Armstrong and Simon Davison in place of Chris Oliver and James Ward.

In the Foster's Durham Senior League, Hetton Lyons could extend their lead.

Nearest rivals Whitburn and Eppleton meet and the Lyons are expected to beat Seaham Harbour.

They are boosted by the anticipated return of skipper Steve Errington and Paul Walker, in charge of the team last week, makes way.

Whitburn have a doubt over captain David Bell and all-rounder Neil Johnson is unavailable. Neil Ayre and Paul Cook return and Eden Elstob is promoted. Michael Turns and Andrew Gilbert drop out of the side. Opponents Eppleton expect to be at full strength.

The match of the day in The Readers Durham County League is between second-top Willington and leaders Esh Winning, who, after losing for the first time last week, are now 27 points ahead.

Esh will have Chris Hurst lining up with his father Graham because Paul Rayner cannot play. Willington have to win if they are to maintain their title hopes and third-top Tudhoe will be interested in the result.

They inflicted a first defeat of the season on Esh last weekend and victory at Crook Town could move them into second position.

With only four games remaining, Murton must defeat Boldon CA to have any chance of retaining The Durham Coast League championship. They are without Neil Mulvaney, but Alan Loscombe plays his second game after his move from Philadelphia.

Leaders Castle Eden are at full strength at home to Ryhope and second-placed Seaham Park will miss Alan Dick against Peterlee. Ian White returns and Michael Evans will have a late fitness test.

Only 21 points separate the four leading sides in the Foster's Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League with six games remaining.

Leaders Ashington visit Benwell and Walbottle who are fighting against relegation. The Colliers have vice-captain Greg Williams and Simon Prudhoe resuming.

Tynedale are second and their chances of defeating bottom-of-the-table Lanchester are strengthened with the inclusion of Durham County's Gary Pratt.

Third top Swalwell go to unchanged Sacriston with Stuart Pattison, Anthony Brown and David Scott included but Leadgate, who are also in contention, miss Paul McCourt and Lee Murray at Shotley Bridge.
