ARTISTS with disabilities ranging from blindness to Downs Syndrome are staging an exhibition.

Paintings, photographs and embroideries will be on display at Darlington College, Cleveland Avenue, Darlington, until September.

The collection, organised by Disability Action in Richmondshire, includes work by Roy Emmerson, Sarah Quin, Jack Horsley, Valerie Burrows and Andy Kirkham.

Development worker Linda Curran said: "The artists show real talent, made even more remarkable by the fact that they overcome disabilities to create it."

Artist Anne Jackson Shield, who helped to organise the event, said: "Exhibition space really is lacking in the Richmondshire area so we are delighted the college has agreed to let us use theirs."
