MORE than 30 suspected drug dealers were targeted during dawn raids yesterday netting £100,000 worth of illicit substances.
Thirty-six men and women were arrested in the Byker, Walker, Scotswood, Cruddas Park and Benwell areas of Newcastle, and in Gateshead and North Tyneside.
They were arrested for more than 160 offences relating to the supply of heroin and cocaine.
As well as class A drugs, officers recovered more than £2,000 and computer equipment that is believed to have been stolen.
A police spokesman said: "It does not stop here. If anyone comes along to fill this void, they can expect the same sort of treatment as we continue to strike at criminal activity in our region."
