A COUPLE of dedicated walkers will be greeted by the mayor of Redcar and Cleveland as they enter the final stages of a fundraising trek.
Councillor Peter Spencer will wave husband and wife Roger and Chris Sewell along the Redcar coast as they raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The couple, from Goole, near Hull, are walking around the boundary of Yorkshire, about 650 miles, and will reach the Redcar district tomorrow.
Their journey began in Hull last month, travelling east to west. They will walk from Yarm to Dormanstown over the weekend. After a rest on Sunday, they set off to Skinningrove, via South Gare, on Monday.
At South Gare they will be greeted by the mayor, at 10am, as they start the final stages of their walk.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Councillor Chris Abbott is assisting Mr and Mrs Sewell, between Yarm and Whitby, by driving them back to their camper van after each day's walk.
Coun Abbott said of their trek: "Beating the bounds of our mighty county is a huge feat of endurance."
Offers of sponsorship can be made by telephoning Coun Abbott on (01642) 487557.
