AN arts project to show the important role played by radio during the Second World War goes on tour next week.
Durham City Arts has received an £18,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to stage the project.
Over the coming weeks, members of the project will tour the area to gather the memories of radio during wartime. The research will be used to create a performance to be staged at the Gala Theatre, in Durham City, at the end of October.
Organisers want to hear from anyone who has memories of the era and also hope to recruit volunteer performers.
On Monday, the team will bring its touring bus to Ludworth Community Centre, from 10am to 3pm. This will be followed by Esh Winning Junior School on Tuesday, from 10am to 3pm, and Waterhouses Village Hall, on Wednesday, from 10am to noon.
