POLICE have renewed appeals for witnesses after two women were indecently assaulted in within two hours of each other in a similar area of Darlington.

The attacks happened at about 10.30pm last Saturday, and 12.35am on Sunday. The first attack happened in Polam Lane and the second in nearby Grange Road.

But the descriptions of the male attackers are different.

One of the victims is 16 years old, the other is in her 20s-30s.

Darlington police are looking for anyone who witnessed the assaults and officers would also like any information about people seen in these areas around that time.

The male involved in the first attack was about 17, and dressed in white.

The second male is described as stocky and broad and about 6ft.

Det Insp Paul Harker said: "Incidents like this are not common in Darlington and for two to happen within a short time makes this all the more surprising.

"We would ask people to be vigilant and to think back to see if they can remember people who may have been in the area."
