A VISITOR centre is to host an exhibition dedicated to a traditional dales craft.
Meet the Middletons, in Middleton-in-Teesdale, County Durham, is holding a temporary display focusing on the art of quilting in Teesdale.
Traditional and modern styles of quilts will be on display at the visitors centre.
Many of them have been made by prize-winning quilter Dorothy Annan, who lives just outside of Middleton-in-Teesdale.
Grace Wallace, general manager of Meet the Middletons, said: "Mrs Annan who runs the Bestitched studio from her home has quilted for a number of years and her work is absolutely beautiful.
"The amount of work that has gone into these quilts is extraordinary and I am sure that everyone will appreciate this when they see them."
As well as the collection of modern quilts there will also be a selection of older quilts, including a traditional Durham quilt made by well-known quilter Amy Emms, who was born in Sunderland and lived in Weardale.
There will also be a selection of unusual quilted items on display.
Additional activities include Design Your Own Quilt and patch-making.
The patches that are made through the two week period will be sewn together to produce a quilt as a memory of the quilting display.
The exhibition runs from August 15 to 29. For details, call (01833) 640333.
