A GROUP of singers will recreate the wartime spirit in Darlington tomorrow as they encourage veterans to record their memories for future generations.
The We'll Meet Again reminiscence show is being held as part of the BBC's People's History series.
The project to get as many people as possible to recount memories and stories from the Second World War. They will be archived to use as a reference in the future.
The show, at Darlington Railway Centre and Museum, will be hosted by Harry Herring, who was a member of the RAF Gang Show with Peter Sellars, Dick Emery and Tony Hancock.
The hour-long show will take place at 11am and 2pm. Entry is free for the over-65s. It will be repeated at Crown Street library on September 2.
* There will be a church service to commemorate the end of the Second World War at The Holy Trinity Church, Woodland Road, Darlington on Sunday. The service has been organised by the Darlington branch of the Royal British Legion. It starts at 10am and is followed by a buffet lunch in the Cleveland Club, Neasham Road.
