POLICE investigating a murder in the North-East are making a further appeal to trace a potential witness.
John George Seccombe, 53, of Memorial Square, Newbiggin, Northumberland, died after suffering head and chest injuries in East Lea, Newbiggin, on July 30, at 1.30am.
Last month, officers appealed to trace an older couple who were walking a retriever-type dog in the area.
As a result of inquiries, police do not now believe they were a couple but two separate dog walkers.
They have contacted a man who was walking his dog in the area, but police are keen to trace a woman may have information which could help the inquiry.
Two men have previously appeared in court charged with murder.
The woman, or anyone else with information, is asked to phone Bedlington Police Station on (01661) 872 555, ext 63692.
