DUTCH footballer Patrick Kluivert was caught driving his Porsche at 95mph.
The striker, who left Newcastle United for Valencia, in Spain, this summer, was clocked travelling at 95.12mph on the A696 at Woolsington, on the outskirts of the city, in May.
The former Barcelona star failed to turn up in court yesterday, leaving magistrates with no option but to fine him in his absence and hope that whoever has moved into his house, forwards his post.
Kluivert, 29, brought to Newcastle by Sir Bobby Robson last summer, was accused of exceeding the 70mph limit on a dual carriageway, and was found guilty.
Magistrate Geoffrey Lumsdon, said: "We fine him £250 plus the £43 costs applied for by the Crown Prosecution Service. We are also adding five points to his licence and he is ordered to pay what is due within 28 days of this order.
"Despite hearing that Mr Kluivert was transferred to Spain earlier in the year, the fact that we, the court, have been given this address means that we must carry out procedures as normal.
"Notification of the fines and costs will be sent to his home address in England."
