POLICE investigating the rape of a teenager have released an e-fit of a man they want to speak to.
The 18-year-old woman from the Walker area of Newcastle was raped by a man posing as a taxi driver.
She was picked up in Scrogg Road, Walker, and the attack in the back of the car happened in the Daisy Hill area.
After being raped the victim managed to escape and later alerted the police.
The attack happened between 11.30pm on July 17, and the early hours of July 18.
The attacker is described as being between 30 to 40 years old, white, with a dark tan and of stocky build.
He spoke with a local accent and had short brown hair with two distinctive shaved lines on the side of his head.
The man was driving a black saloon car with a taxi sign on top.
Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and any taxi drivers in Newcastle or North Tyneside who may have noticed any unusual taxis or suspicious vehicles on the night of Sunday, July 17.
