HOSPITAL patients and staff have been presented with a tribute to the building's 60-year-old predecessor.
Sedgefield Town Council's deputy mayor Dudley Waters presented a collage of old photographs to Sedgefield Community Hospital's matron Janet Connor during a party commemorating the end of the Second World War.
The pictures were taken from a book compiled by former employee Bob Abley, from memories and stories of the town's old community hospital, which was built as an emergency military unit in 1941.
Councillor Waters said: "When we held a weekend of celebrations to mark the end of the war we were also celebrating peace and thanking people who weren't in the armed services, like the police and the hospital staff, for their contribution. The picture is on behalf of all Sedgefield community."
