BUSINESSES in Consett are being urged to be vigilant following two burglaries over the weekend.
Raiders targeted two firms on the Number One Industrial Estate in the town centre.
They broke into the Phileas Fogg crisp factory, between 5am and 7pm on Sunday, taking a small amount of money from a vending machine.
Mister Twister's play centre was entered between 8.30am on Saturday and 6.45am on Sunday and cash was taken from a coin box.
Entry was forced at both sites and officers think the incidents may be linked.
A Durham Police spokesman said: "We are not ruling anything out, but we think the same people could be responsible.
"As a result, patrols in the area are going to increase.
"We are asking for anyone with information about these incidents to come forward. We would also like to hear from anyone who has seen suspicious activity at commercial properties in the town centre generally."
People with information can call 0845 606 0365.
