A WOMAN who left Darlington 24 years ago is moving back - into a house opposite her childhood home.
Bobby Kettle moved away to join the RAF and has since lived in 18 places, usually in military accommodation.
Her new home, over the road from the house where her mother still lives, will be the first she will share with husband, Bryan.
The couple expect to move into their house, on the Haslam Homes' Moorfield development, later this year.
After leaving the RAF, Mrs Kettle now works for the National Health Service as a psychology secretary, at Darlington's West Park Hospital.
She said: "I'm very happy that I've been able to find a house so close to my mother and near to my place of work."
As she is currently living in her mother's house, Mrs Kettle has been able to watch her new home being built.
