A SHOP on a Darlington estate has applied to increase the hours it sells alcohol.
Bells Stores Ltd, in White Hart Crescent, Red Hall, wants to sell alcohol from 6am to 11pm, seven days a week.
Currently, the store is allowed to sell alcohol from 8am to 10.30pm, Monday to Saturday, and 8am to 10.30pm, on Sundays.
The proposed changes would allow the store to sell alcohol to coincide with its normal retail hours. Bells Stores said it has internal and external security cameras and recordings are kept for ten days and made available to police on request.
One resident said changes will add to the disturbance on the estate.
John Buxton, Darlington Borough Council's director of development and environment, said if councillors grant the changes, there should be conditions governing the use of security cameras, maintaining an incident report book and installing security lights.
The licensing sub-committee will discuss the application on Monday.
